Bankcard ticketing cuts TfL’s costs

The growing popularity of contactless payment cards (CPC) to pay for travel in the capital has substantially cut Transport for London’s revenue collection costs.  

TfLsays more than 300 million journeys in London have been paid for using CPCcards since the option became available in September 2014. The average number of daily trips made using CPCs hit 1.07 million in the weeks before Christmas.
