Cornwall Council made an extra £300,000 because its parking machines do not give change, a Freedom of Information (FoI) request has revealed. Last year £11.6m was paid in parking fees, of which an estimated £307,293 was due to “over-vend”, the council said in response to the question. In 2011/12 it made £340,000 extra from machines that do not give change.
