The scrapping of tariffs at hospital car parks in Scotland has saved patients and NHS staff £13m, according to the Scottish government. Since the start of 2009 parking has been free at 13 hospitals in Scotland.
The estimated saving is based on the amount of cash collected in the 12 months before charges were abolished, when they were capped at £3 a day.
