Nottingham grows electric bus fleet

19 April 2013

Nottingham City Council has placed an order for 20 electric buses with manufacturer Optare in a move the council says will create the largest fleet of electric buses in Europe. The council already has eight Optare Solo electric midibuses in use on its CentreLink and MediLink services. The new order is for ten Solos (with seating capacity for 33 passengers) and ten Versas (40 passengers). The vehicles are part-funded by the DfT’s Green Bus Fund.
