The bus stop presents an opportunity to showcase much more about the public transport system. The pilot project in Paris has sought to create a comprehensive waiting and information facility whilst a variety of new designs have been installed in London.

A good proportion of travel is probably based on habit and the user’s perception of the transport network from regular experience of it. Whilst it is limiting to wider possibilities, this is a sound basis of decision-making. Our information systems are well advised to do much more to build on current good habits and perceptions, and add new potential options.
