Airport operator Peel Airports has reported losses of £11.4m in the last financial year, up from £3.2m the previous year, due primarily to an £8.8m ‘impairment charge’ after it sold Durham Tees Valley Airport to its parent Peek Group for a nominal sum after no other buyer could be found.
