In November a small conference took place in San Francisco at which communications experts from many transit agencies, vendors and systems integrators gathered to discuss the latest developments in wireless technologies and the impact they would have on passenger transportation. Staged by London-based Global Transport Forum the event included site visits to local rail and bus operators Amtrak, Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, Caltrain and Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART).
