Ian Bevan joined Northern Rail as finance director when the franchise began in December 2004, having previously been chief financial officer at GNER. He was promoted to deputy managing director of Northern at the start of 2008, and became interim managing director earlier this year when Heidi Mottram left the company to join Northumbrian Water.
