Virgin Trains is working with Network Rail to upgrade parking facilities at 17 stations along the West Coast mainline route. This £90m initiative has already seen the building of a multi-storey alongside Runcorn station. The 198 three- deck car park, which opened in May, brings the station’s capacity up to 558.
