Tyne &?Wear PTE Nexus has unveiled final designs for the transformation of Sunderland’s railway station as work on the project enters its final phase. Completion of the £7m upgrade of the station’s platform areas is currently expected in May 2010. Nexus has commissioned artist Jason Bruges to create a 140-metre animated ‘light wall’, with an ever-changing display powered by thousands of individual LED units.
