DfT sifts bids for Kickstart funding

The DfT is sifting through 104 bids from local authorities in England (outside London) for ‘Kickstart’ funding to launch new or enhanced bus services. The Kickstart fund is worth £25m over three years (2009/10 to 2011/12). Successful bids will be announced this autumn. Services should be financially sustainable beyond the three-year funding period.
