As part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU), a total of £175,000 is to be awarded to community projects this year.
Projects within five miles of the core route can bid for small grants (£1,000 to £5,000) or medium grants (£5,000 to £20,000).
The allocation of the funding is being independently managed on behalf of TRU by GMCVO, which works to strengthen the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise sector.
