Metrobus will restore some services from Saturday 17 April as more people get back on buses in Surrey.

The daytime frequency of Route 3, between Crawley, Forge Wood and Gatwick, will be restored to every 30 minutes between Monday and Saturday.

There are also changes to Route 21. The Monday to Friday 1908 journey from Leatherhead to Box Hill will be reintroduced, while the 2010 journey from Headley Court to Epsom will be withdrawn.

While there are no changes to times for Routes 460 between Crawley and Sutton Bus Garage and 480 between Crawley and Epsom, buses on this route will go back to serving Epsom Clock Tower Stop C, rather than Stop K.

Brighton & Hove and Metrobus managing director Martin Harris said: “These service changes are in anticipation of growing passenger demand as the country starts to open up again after lockdown. We are really looking forward to welcoming passengers back on to our buses as things begin to reopen.”

Harris said that the safety measures Metrobus introduced at the start of the pandemic were still in place, including extra cleaning using hospital grade products, social distancing and bus capacity limits. Every bus also has anti-virus air filters, which remove 99.99% of viruses and bacteria.

Harris said: “Alongside these safety measures, please remember that it is still very important that passengers wear a face covering over their nose and mouth for their entire journey, unless they are exempt.”
