South-east London to central London have been connected via a fully protected cycle route for the first time with the opening of a new cycleway by Transport for London (TfL).

The protected route is designed to make cycling and walking between Tower Bridge Road and Rotherhithe safer and easier.

The 3.6km section of Cycleway 4 follows a key corridor along Jamaica Road and Tooley Street.
