DfT announces crackdown on misuse of laser pointers

Measures to tackle the reckless use of laser pointers have been announced by the government. Local authority ports and borders teams would be given additional support to stop high-powered laser pointers entering the UK.

In addition, local authority teams would get access to the necessary scientific, technical and testing expertise.

There has been a rise in the number of incidents involving laser pointers, said the government. More than 150 incidents of eye injuries involving laser pointers...
