Patronage at the new Kirkstall Forge station in West Yorkshire has far exceeded expectations: 21,400 journeys were made to Leeds in the first five months, as against the annual 20,200 forecast.
The disclosure was made at Landor’s 2017 Rail Stations & Property conference.
The station opened in June and cost £16.0m to build. Funding was provided by the DfT (£9.6m), developer CEG (£5.1m), and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority (£1.3m).
