The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT)’s International Knowledge Centre was awarded the Herbert Crow Memorial Award at the Carmen Transport Awards ceremony in London.

The Carmen Transport Awards, organised by the Worshipful Company of Carmen honour the very best in industry, the armed forces, education and individual enterprise. The Carmen have served and represented the transport industry for 500 years.

The Herbert Crown Memorial Award honours achievement in transport scholarship, management systems, training, research, authorship and publication, or any other knowledge-enhancing transport activities.

The Institute’s International Knowledge Centre provides members with access to leading information from around the world in all areas of logistics, transport and the supply chain. The centre contains: The John Williams Library, based at the Institute’s Head Office in Corby, which houses the largest collection of logistics and transport resources in Europe; the Knowledge Bank, providing members with a wealth of online resources; exclusive databases to assist members with their competitive analysis; and a dedicated team answering queries and providing information and support to members.

The award was collected by CIL chairman Professor Richard Wilding, who said: “The Knowledge Centre provides members with support and information to assist them in their careers and professional development and it is a great honour to receive the Herbert Crow Memorial Award. Access to knowledge facilitates action and innovation and the CILT Knowledge Centre enables our members to create impact within the environments they work.”

The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport is the independent international professional body for individuals and companies associated with logistics and transport. It has over 33,000 members in over 31 countries worldwide.
