One million bus lane fines were issued by UK councils last year compared with 321,000 in 2010, according to responses to a Freedom of Information request from by The Times.
Glasgow City Council issued the largest number of fines at 131,238, having issued none in 2010. Meanwhile, Birmingham issued 73,534 in 2014, Manchester 77,240 and Leeds 64,758 fines.
