Liverpool council approves removal of bus lanes

Almost all of Liverpool’s bus lanes are to be removed, the city council decided at a meeting this morning. The cabinet has approved plans to revoke Traffic Regulation Orders for 26 bus lanes, with new orders introduced to allow just four lanes to continue.

The 26 bus lanes were suspended in October 2013 so that congestion and traffic flow could be monitored and analysed by transport consultants Mott MacDonald.
