Baker frees up highway authorities from sign lighting requirements

The local transport minister Norman Baker announced today that highway authorities will from 2015 no longer be required to light a number of traffic signs.

Baker said that there had been strong views over sign lighting requirements expressed during a review of regulations and guidance on traffic signs.
