The Northern Ireland Office is re-examining its plans for a bus rapid transit system in Belfast and considering whether light rail is a better option. Consultant Atkins will undertake feasibility studies of rapid transit proposals for two corridors in Belfast:
* 'EWAY' between Dundonald and Belfast city centre;
* CITI (City Airport Titanic Quarter Route), linking the city centre with George Best Belfast City Airport via the 75 hectare mixed use Titanic Quarter development.
