Croydon Council has been ordered to remove six Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN) schemes after they were deemed unlawful at Judicial Review. The judge said that the dominant purpose of making the temporary schemes permanent was the council’s quest for the annual income.
According to the High Court judgement, the south London borough had expected to make a surplus of £10.7m from the LTNs between 2023 and 2027.
