The Connected Kerb public EV charging networks has acquired Trojan Energy’s Flat & Flush on-street charging technology and associated network.

Connected Kerb will maintain the operation of Trojan’s 1,500 existing live chargepoints and integrate Trojan’s Flat & Flush Hub and Home products into its own technology portfolio.

Connected Kerb works with local authorities to build and operate community EV charging in residential streets and local public car parks. It also install EV charging infrastructure at workplaces, retail, destinations, car parks, commercial real estate and for residential developers.

Chris Pateman-Jones, chief executive of Connected Kerb, said: “This acquisition marks a pivotal moment in our mission to make reliable, accessible EV charging available to everyone, especially those without driveways. Trojan’s cutting-edge subsurface technology perfectly complements Connected Kerb’s long-life, smart charging infrastructure. Together, we’re building a future where clean transport is easy, equitable, and built for all communities.

“The acquisition enhances Connected Kerb’s ability to deliver high-density neighbourhood charging, where we are resolving critical barriers to EV ownership for the 60% of households without access to off-street parking.

With EV ownership accelerating and public charging demand increasingly centred on reliability, availability, and urban accessibility, the combined Connected Kerb-Trojan portfolio is uniquely positioned to meet this challenge head-on.”

Trojan Energy was founded in 2016 with the aim of making EV charging accessible for the 10 households without a driveway. Its patented Flat & Flush EV charging solution is designed and manufactured in the UK to minimise the impact on streets. Since its inception, the business has deployed 1,500 chargepoints in partnership with 12 councils.

Ian Mackenzie, chief executive of Trojan Energy, said: “This deal brings Trojan Energy’s pioneering Flat & Flush chargepoints inside one of the UK’s largest and fastest-growing EV charging networks, Connected Kerb. The acquisition allows existing and new customers to benefit from a larger combined network, and accelerates the benefits of the energy transition for EV drivers, their communities and the planet.”
