Transport for London extends BP Pulse partnership

BP Pulse, a provider of rapid and ultra-fast EV charging providers, has announced an extension of its agreement with Transport for London (TfL). 

The framework agreement, which commenced in 2018, underpins bp pulse’s commitment to delivering reliable, accessible charging solutions across London and the surrounding areas.

The BP Pulse and TfL network encompasses over 150 chargers, located across London boroughs and extending out as far as Watford and Epping Forest. These chargers play a crucial role in supporting the adoption of electric vehicles in the nation’s capital, with a particular focus on providing dedicated infrastructure for the ride-hail and taxi sector.

BP Pulse has replace some of the original units installed in 2018 with new charging technology. The next-generation chargers are more reliable and see an average increase of 50% in usage compared to older units. 

Phases one, two and three of the upgrade programme are complete, delivering almost 130 new chargers. Phase four (covering a further five chargers) is scheduled for completion by end of November.

We’ve been working hard to upgrade the charging infrastructure across London and we’re about to enter the final phase of the upgrade. We’re seeing increased demand on the new chargers, showing how important it is for taxis and ride hails to have the EV infrastructure in the right places.”
