Theo Thuis has been elected as the new president of the European Parking Association (EPA), which is the umbrella organisation for Europe’s national parking associations.

Thuis takes over from the British Parking Association’s Nigel Williams, who served as president for three years, and now becomes president emeritus.

Thuis was nominated as a consensus candidate by the Bulgarian Association for Parking and Sustainable Urban Mobility (BAPSUM).

Peter Dingemans, nominated by Dutch parking platform VEXPAN, was elected vice president, replacing Stefan Sadleder, who has stepped down from the board and will join the newly elected policy and strategy committee.

The election was held during EPA’s Annual General Assembly on the final day of the 21st European Parking Conference & Exhibition in Brussels.

Over 50 full and corporate members gathered at what was only the second Ordinary General Assembly of the EPA aisbl since its foundation in 2023.

The election also saw Nicola Veratelli, nominated by Italy’s AIPARK, joins the board newly elected as a representative of the full members

Two board members were re-elected – Sébastien Fraisse of France’s Fédération Nationale des Métiers du Stationnement (FNMS), as full member representative and Morten Hother Sørensen, Arrive (formerly EasyPark) as corporate board member.

Following the elections, new EPA president Theo Thuis said: “I am very grateful for the trust of our national associations and commit to continue listening to all EPA’s members so that we can deliver new initiatives and services to the benefit of the entire parking sector. Together, with the entire b external communications.”
