A Tyne and Wear Metro station could receive 159 new parking spaces. Metro operator Nexus has submitted an application to add the spaces to the car park at Callerton Parkway station in Newcastle.
Plans for 500 spaces were put forward in 2022, but Nexus reduced the number to minimise the loss of landscaping and biodiversity in the area.
