Transport secretary Mark Harper has offered an update on HS2 projects, funding allocations for zero emission buses and details of spending per head on active travel in response to questions raised by the Transport Select Committee.

These were among the issues raised by the committee at a hearing with Harper last month.

The transport secretary also offered an apology for the DfT’s delay in reporting back on consultations and policy commitments.
