Japanese businesses to work with Sunderland City Council to deliver electric vehicle assembly line and battery gigafactory

Nissan is to expand electric vehicle production at its car plant in Sunderland, with the Japanese carmaker announcing that it will build its new-generation all-electric model at the site.

The EV36Zero facility, which will feature a ‘gigafactory’ producing batteries, will be centred around the exiting Nissan car plant.
