Nissan is to expand electric vehicle production at its car plant in Sunderland, with the Japanese carmaker announcing that it will build its new-generation all-electric model at the site.

The EV36Zero facility, which will feature a ‘gigafactory’ producing batteries, will be centred around the exiting Nissan car plant.
