Cheshire East Council has blamed Covid-19 for the decision to phase plans to transform Crewe station and its surroundings.
Proposals were unveiled in March (LTT 20 Mar) for a remodelled station with a transfer deck above the platforms and a new station entrance on Weston Road on the east side of the station. The current station access on Nantwich Road bridge would be made for pedestrians and cyclists only, and a new Southern Link road bridge would span the railway tracks south of the station....
