The DfT has appointed Dipesh J Shah OBE as the new chairman of Highways England, succeeding Colin Matthews who has led the Government company since formation in 2014. Shah will take up the role on 1 September. He is a former chief executive of the UK Atomic Energy Authority and has held several senior positions at BP.
