The Government has allocated £125m to a research programme into developing new aviation technologies such as flying urban taxis, electric passenger planes and freight-carrying drones.
The Future of Flight Challenge programme is being overseen by the Government’s UK Research and Innovation body. With £125m from the industrial strategy challenge fund, the Government hopes to lever-in £175m from industry.
