Essex County Council has dropped plans to announce a preferred route for the A120 dualling between Braintree and the A12 because of fears that doing so would jeopardise the scheme’s delivery by Highways England.
The east-west A120 between Braintree and the A12 at Marks Tey is the only section of single carriageway between the M11 and Colchester.
