Surrey County Council has appointed Arup to study options for a southern rail link into Heathrow Airport. The council says there is a need for a southern rail access “irrespective of whether Heathrow expands”. Last year the council called for a new rail service between London Waterloo and Heathrow via Staines, as well as a fourth lane on the M25 between junctions 10 and 16.
