The Government has selected eight cities/city regions in Britain to study the feasibility of increasing the size of electric taxi fleets, which could lead to them ultimately winning part of a £20m fund to increase plug-in taxi/private hire vehicle fleets.
The Energy Saving Trust will conduct the £30,000 studies for seven city councils and one combined authority (Birmingham, Cambridge, Coventry, Dundee, Nottingham, Oxford, Sheffield and West Yorkshire).
