Ten councils in South Wales are drawing up plans for an £800m infrastructure fund that could form the core of a city deal struck with the Treasury and the Welsh Government.
News of a proposed city deal for the Cardiff city region emerged in March (LTT 20 Mar).
Cardiff Council is leading the project, which would cover ten councils (Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil, Monmouthshire, Newport, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Vale of Glamorgan, and Torfaen).
