We may need three extra road bridges in East London, says TfL

The consultation seeks views on crossings at A – a new Woolwich ferry; B – a bridge or ferry at Gallions Reach; and C – a new bridge at Belvedere

Three new road bridges could be built across the Thames in east London over the next decade, according to Transport for London.

TfL has launched a consultation on four options for improving cross-river travel:

• a higher capacity ferry at Woolwich to replace the existing vessel

• a ferry at Gallions Reach between Beckton and Thamesmead

• a bridge at Gallions Reach

• a bridge at Belvedere between Rainham and Belvedere

These are in addition to the proposed new Silvertown...
