Glasgow City Council’s proposed segregated cycle lanes in the city centre have been branded “unnecessary, costly and cumbersome” by Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT).
The regional transport partnership fears the cycle lanes and the associated priority for cyclists at junctions will delay bus services. It wants Glasgow to scrap the idea and says cyclists and buses should share the same roadspace instead.
