The London Borough of Sutton is stepping up its lobbying of Transport for London to try and get the Tramlink light rail system extended to the town.
The route would run from the existing Croydon-Wimbledon line at Merton through Tosehill, St Helier and Sutton High Street to a terminal at Sutton station. A second phase would link the town centre to the Royal Masrden Hospital.
