A U.S report says that increases in driving “show no sign of returning” as the average number of miles driven by Americans heads into its eighth of decline.
The report by the consumer group U.S PIRG highlights how the miles driven per capita in the U.S peaked in 2004 and the total miles driven peaked in 2007. It states that the tendency of young people to drive less becomes the norm, “the reduction in driving will be even larger”.
