I feel I must respond to Geoff Collins of Vysionics in his letter in support of average speed cameras (ibid). I would immediately observe that Geoff would say all that.

I don’t doubt that over the stretches of road where average speed cameras operate the accident rate will have gone down. But to achieve reductions at these sites, thousands of perfectly safe drivers, who weren’t about to crash, will have been prosecuted at great cost to them and the economy, and sent on expensive,...
