The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has introduced what it claims as India’s first mobile phone-based real-time bus arrival and departure time system in Mysore. Operating at some 38% of the bus shelters in the second-largest city in the south-western state of Karnataka – a pioneering centre for ITS deployment – the service is available via SMS or an or an interactive voice response system.
