Independent bus operators have made a State Aid complaint to the European Commission concerning payments by local authorities in England and Wales to community transport operators.
The complainants, led by JA Travel, which operates in Nottingham and Mansfield, say grants and loans made by councils have helped give community transport operators an advantage when bidding for work.
