Renfrewshire Council has reported a sharp rise in compliance since it took over parking enforcement from Strathclyde Police in April.
Marie McGurk, Convener of Renfrewshire Council’s Environment and Infrastructure Policy Board, said: “Yellow lines keep corners free from traffic, they stop badly parked vehicles blocking the line of sight, they protect pedestrian areas and they make sure that loading and unloading areas in front of shops are kept clear.
