Ostrich mentality won’t win the bus regulation debate

BARELY a week goes by now without some influential thinktank or group of experts coming forward with their own spin on why buses should be reregulated. In the latest of these, the Local Government Association has brought in the might of Tony Travers and Stephen Glaister from the London School of Economics to argue for more financial and regulatory control to pass to the PTEs, PTAs and unitary authorities in the larger conurbations outside London.
