ATOC devises East Coast timetable to keep all parties happy

The Association of Train Operating Companies has devised an East Coast Main Line timetable which would provide sufficient capacity for National Express’s expansion plans plus new open access routes, and leave room for further increases in services as well.

The solution devised by ATOC and the principal ECML operators would provide seven long distance paths per hour by taking a more flexible approach to stopping patterns. At present there are five long distance paths per hour on the line...
