New £4.3m station opens in South Wales

A new rail station at Llanharan, near Bridgend, has opened and is expected to become a significant commuter railhead in an area of housing growth.

The twin-platform station on the South Wales main line is costing £4.3m and will officially open next year, when the station car park is completed. The previous Llanharan station closed 43 years ago.
