Colledge is GMPTA’s first Conservative chairman
Conservative councillor for Trafford, Matthew Colledge, has been appointed as the new chair of the Greater?Manchester Passenger Transport Authority. He fills the vacancy left when Roger Jones lost his Irlam seat in the May local elections and is GMPTA’s first non-Labour chair.
Elected at last week’s GMPTA annual general meeting, the 34 year old beat Labour’s candidate - Manchester councillor Andrew Fender - by 16 votes to 13.
