Tapping sunshine to re-charge cars

A solar-powered electric vehicle charging point has been set up at the Centre for Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence (CEME) in Essex. The eTap solar EV charging point is the result of a collaboration between parking equipment manufacturer APT Technologies and solar developer Use The Sun.

The solar charging point is made up of 45 solar panels forming a canopy with six parking bays served by an Evolt charging point from APT Technologies.
