Car park owners should set up life-care plans, urges BPA report

Evidence on need for better maintenance presented to Department for Transport

Car park owners should be encouraged to make proper financial provision for routine structural inspections and planned maintenance, argues a report prepared for the Department for Transport (DfT) by the British Parking Association (BPA). Transport minister Norman Baker commissioned the report because he wanted evidence to support the BPA’s claims that car parks were poorly maintained and required mandatory inspections before he could consider taking action.
