DfT unveils £170m to tackle bottlenecks to unlock development
The Highways Agency is to deliver 57 road improvements in a £170m investment, transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin announced today.
The £170 million investment is part of a £217 million 'pinch points' programme to remove bottlenecks and keep traffic moving on the strategic network. The DfT said that the economic benefit of the 57 schemes is estimated at around £3 billion.
The Department said that "many" of the improvements will be delivered in 2013 and 2014, and all will be completed by March...
